Miriam B. Russom

Born and raised in Eritrea (small country in east Africa), Miriam studied arts and linguistic through high school and engineering in college receiving a dual MSc in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Politecnico University of Milan and University of Illinois at Chicago. After college she joined Microsoft and is now a Senior Product Manager in Azure IoT (Internet-Of-Things) following her passion of applying intelligence to things, connecting the physical world to the digital world to enable new experiences with a particular interest of application of emerging technologies IoT, AI, and Blockchain for the enablement of developing and emerging markets. She holds a patent being filed through Microsoft for use of Blockchain and IoT to enable farmers have access to global markets. Miriam has been also serving as co-chair for the Africans @ Microsoft network and is active in the African technology landscape.
At her core she is an engineer who likes to solve problems leveraging her multidisciplinary and multicultural background.
